Yeah it is not really the main reason I like this stock. If the stock slowly rerates and tensions with the US do not increase significantly, I think odds of a buyout are low.
But if valuation remains low or tensions with the US will increase, odds of a lowballish bid will increase. Maybe somewhere $6-7? They did show a willingness to do buybacks (which actually isn't great with a float this small), so they are conscious about valuation.
And with a float this small, a buyout is quite cheap too, no need to raise a large amount of capital.
Thanks for the ideal, but I think relying on a private transaction that was rumored almost a year ago may not be realistic.
